My New 2020 Body
I began my ironwoman journey in 2019.
The idea is I would show up regularly at the gym and lose all the so-called “baby fat.”
This isn’t just a New Year’s Resolution, but a lifestyle change to benefit my health.
This involves showing up at the gym at least 4 to 5 times per week, a sensible diet, and cardio on these days, as well as a rigorous schedule of weight lifting.
Like a lot of women, I too have body image issues. Society tells me it’s not okay to be pleasantly plump. I have friends who joke with me about the Body Positive Movement and I think they were trying to tell me that I am a little overweight. Or maybe a lot. Well, I don’t need people to drop many hints until I get the message. I got it loud and clear.
My only problem while on this journey is I love sugar. I can hardly resist a chocolate treat. It’s very difficult for me. Not sure if it is built into my DNA, but it is very hard to pass on sweets. This can be problematic when you want to achieve weight loss.
