Why Applause Won’t Save You

Everyone hopes to be well thought of. We pander to our elusive and yet sharp audience.

We hope for applause. What is this applause for?

Learning to clap for yourself.

At the end of the day, no one is going to save you and applause from others will not save you from yourself. You will still have the untransformed, challenged human looking back at you in the mirror, and you will still have to deal with being in integrity with that person.

Those moments when you have given up, doubted yourself, needed someone to give you feedback, etcetera, look inside yourself and reach for what you know lights you up.

So many people have climbed the pinnacle of success only to find that once they look beyond the wizard’s curtain, they find an empty room.

It is not quite the dreamland that they had once imagined it would be.

Start with making peace with yourself.
